Inflammation

Inflammation is the first and necessary response of the immune system to infection and/or others. Inflammation is supposed to initiate healing processes. However, when inflammation is not properly under control, it may attribute to developing chronic diseases (e.g. arthritis, allergy, asthma, atherosclerosis, obesity, and aging). The inflammation can be classified into two kinds (acute and chronic inflammations); the former is related more to inflammatory processes involved in pathogenic attacks (e.g., toxins, bacterial, fungal, viral infections). If careful enough, this type of inflammation may be avoided and/or well managed by therapeutic agents, because the pathophysiological conditions are usually transient and opportunistic. However, the chronic inflammation is likely composed of daily spontaneous inflammatory processes responding to a sort of normal human activities (e.g., body functions, movement, exercise, eating, drinking, breathing, physical, emotional, psychological stresses). Therefore, the latter type of inflammation is not likely to be avoidable completely as long as you live, because the processes are a part of living processes. However, the impact of the processes may be modulated or lessened by living in many smart and healthy ways. |

As discussed above, a smart control of acute and chronic inflammations may be beneficial to dealing with problems derived from inflammation.

In practical and nutritional perspectives, there are a couple of things you can do.
* Practice clean and hygienic life style.
* Maintain your body weight and shape at healthy levels (e.g., check your BMI index) via adopting a balanced and healthy diet (e.g., herb, fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts ).
* Perform a regular exercise (e.g., at least 15-30 min
daily) appropriate to your health conditions.
* Avoid unnecessary stresses (e.g., physical, emotional, psychological).
